Dollars to donuts says, of course, that the Obama Administration will not listen to the likes of Dan Mitchell. But Republicans can listen and can use the kinds of ideas that Mitchell proposes to refurbish their economic platform and provide a real and significant alternative to the Administration's policies.

Having only 3 liberal Republicans favor the so-called economic stimulus package is a good start.

Obama knows that he's got to have Republican support for cover if his economic policies drop us off the cliff. So, make sure those Republican participants are the smart ones on economic growth, leaving the Specters, Collins, and Snowes at the latte bar for the duration.
