A Chequer-Board of Nights and Days

We Haven't Covered The Polls In The Past Few Days . . .

So let us note that while Gallup has Obama ahead by 6 points amongst registered voters, Pew's survey only has Obama up by 3 points and shows that McCain is consolidating support amongst members of the Republican base. And while Obama leads by eight points amongst registered voters in Pennsylvania, the lead shrinks to merely five when likely voters are surveyed. Pennsylvania, surprisingly, is in reach and Obama may be forced to spend more time and money than he thought he would have to spend in order to lock it down as a state in his column.

It's still a close race. We are in for a more exciting fall than many people thought we would be in for.
