I am cautiously optimistic, though I want to hear more about his belief in local control when it comes to setting an education agenda and his belief in school choice (on this latter issue, there is some cause for concern, though Duncan's support for charter schools is commendable). Relatedly, I suppose it is worth noting that my peeps are getting lots of jobs in the Obama Administration.

Who knows? My own credentials as a Lab School alum may make me a sleeper pick for a position.*

Have the schools improved during Duncan's stint as superintendent?  I've noticed that no one says that.
