While Tim Geithner is a good pick for Treasury, I continue to be puzzled that Hillary Clinton is going to get the top job at the State Department. I said what I wanted to say on this matter so I won't repeat myself, but it continues to stun me that we are viewing the position of Secretary of State as being something akin to Homecoming King/Queen, to be handed out to someone with starpower who, in representing us, can somehow make us seem to be the Cool Kids of the International Community and thus cause other nation-states to forget their interests in the course of liking us.
Relatedly, I think that Bob Woodward is completely accurate with his comments. Get ready to pop some popcorn for this show--assuming that you are able to keep it down, of course.
