Shunning Ann CoulterPosted by Pejman Yousefzadeh on Mon Mar 05, 2007 at 02:04:18 PM EST
I am pretty much on board with this statement. My only objection to it is that I can't remember a time when Ann Coulter served conservatism well. But that quibble notwithstanding, I certainly believe that Coulter should no longer be considered any kind of a featured star for the conservative movement. Throughout her punditry career, she has pretty much been an embarrassment.
Incidentally, I trust that this will be remembered as a fine example of how conservatives do police their own. I know that there are many on the other side who are willing to turn a blind eye to such examples and pretend that conservatives are more than pleased to allow disgusting hate-filled speeches by "one of their own" to go unchallenged from other conservatives. And curiously enough, those people on the other side are oftentimes guilty of what they accuse conservatives of doing. UPDATE: You see? Hate speech is most emphatically not restricted to one side of the political divide.
