Currency Evaluation, China And The Trade Deficit

I have little problem believing that the artificial undervaluation of the Chinese yuan is a source of concern for policymakers. But of course, when it comes to considering the valuation of the yuan and the issue of the trade deficit the United States has with China, currency devaluation only tells part of the story.

Here is more information and commentary that serves to fill in the rest of the picture. And let's remember: What is commonly assumed about the trade deficit is  quite incorrect, as this piece points out.
