If Wal-Mart really
did "distribute a statement to bloggers," I am afraid that it means I am off their distribution list.
I just decided to write what came to my head regarding the Wal-Mart article found in the
Times and that meant raising some questions about some of the suggestions that the
Times piece appeared to be making. This is how the creation and publication of original commentary works and I imagine that a lot more people than yours truly decided to go the original commentary route in writing about the
Times piece.
It may be a good idea to actually engage critiques of the piece rather than speculating without any foundation whatsoever as to whether Wal-Mart distributed some kind of statement. That's just my old-fashioned view on the situation, but I can't believe it doesn't have some popular currency about it.
