Of course, Professor Hewitt's counsel is quite good (though I would add that the two potentially offending staffers really ought to contact Williams & Connolly as well--after all, certain of their attorneys have experience in handling political/legal disputes of the most serious order). I would simply add the counsel that nothing the potentially offending staffers reveal to blogs and newspapers should fail to reach the ears of the feds as well--so long as an attorney is there to protect the interests of the potentially offending staffers. Bloggers--as powerful as they/we can be--are still in no position whatsoever to stay the hand of Justice. The FBI--in certain cases--might be. All I will say is that even after reading Professor Hewitt's wise counsel, the potentially offending staffers will still need the Ambien. Hewitt doesn't pull his punches, does he? Vader himself could have taken lessons on how to be so gently and yet unmistakably fearsome with his commentary. I mean seriously, those words are not pretty for young eyes to linger over . . .
