And Now It Is Time To Police Our Own

And so, Captain Ed steps up to the plate to take down the latest lunatic statement from Pat Robertson.

A couple of months ago, I heard George Clooney give Robertson props because of the latter's instigation of the One Campaign. I thought that perhaps Robertson would use the surprisingly good press from an unexpected corner to expand his credibility. I didn't think he would sell out his beliefs, but perhaps he had learned to deal effectively with other viewpoints and with those holding those viewpoints.

And now we see him endorsing assassination and giving even conservatives who wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole a bad name. How charming.

Wasn't this (none / 0) (#1)

suggested by someone else as an alternative to the war in Iraq; that is to assassinate Hussein (or otherwise send in a "CIA hit man/team" to "take him out"?) instead of invading Iraq?

I don't know if anyone of any prominence has suggested this but I know some people personally who were anti-war who did suggest this as an alternative.
