The "Thoughts For The Day" . . .

Posted by Pejman Yousefzadeh on Tue Aug 23, 2005 at 12:54:18 AM EST

Will probably not be in existence at this here blog. I may do an occasional Quote That Catches My Fancy in the same way that I posted poems occasionally at Pejmanesque. But since we are going to have multiple bloggers here and since the Thoughts For The Day always closed out a day of blogging, I think that sort of thing would no longer make sense. I don't want to write a post that tells the other bloggers "You Can't Blog Anymore For Today!", after all.

Having said that, if I could give you a Thought For The Day for today, it may just belong to Eugene Volokh:

Remember, "Patriot Act," like "fascism" and "unconstitutional," is not Latin for "government action I don't like."

Quite so. Read the whole of his post.

you have, but I never noticed that the quotes closed out a day.

To me they were just nice little surprises, read a few posts, get a quote, read a few posts, get a quote.

Like a commercial break that's worth sticking around for.
