A Chequer-Board of Nights and Days

Welcome . . .

Posted by Pejman Yousefzadeh on Mon Aug 22, 2005 at 09:21:40 PM EST

To all and sundry from Pejmanesque. Glad to have you here.

Within short order, you will see additional contributors coming along to post items of interest to readers here. Said contributors are famous and excellent bloggers in their own right, so I certainly look forward to reading what they have to write.

Additionally, I plan to open Diaries soon that will allow readers to also post items. So long as the privilege is not abused--and I plan to ensure that it is not--the presence of Diaries should significantly enhance the site and make it a community-based weblog that encourages active participation.

Again, welcome to A Chequer-board of Nights and Days. Glad to have you reading.

And the WYSIWYG editor allows me to paste links into the links popup. I tried pasteing with Ctrl-V and with the right mouse button context menu. Both worked under mozilla and IE. What browser does this faul under?

Congrats, and thanks for your efforts.

Should be fun, as well as informative.

Hell, forget the informative nonsense, give me the fun.

So, the reference...? (none / 0) (#6)
by Ian Hamet on Tue Aug 23, 2005 at 01:34:18 AM EST

Is it directly to Omar Kayyam and his Ruby Yacht?

Or is it by way of Nevil Shute

Either way, great name and I wish I'd thought to use it first.  ;)

It is indeed Omar Khayyam (n/t) (none / 0) (#8)
