So it now appears that denials notwithstanding, George Galloway and his now-estranged wife were
beneficiaries of a kickback from the Iraqi oil-for-food program. This will come as no surprise to anyone who was not irrationally enamored with Gorgeous George, but it will be interesting to see if there are any immunity issues to be worked out before Galloway receives his just desserts--he is (incomprehensibly) a member of Parliament, after all. I'm not entirely clear on what the law is on this issue, so I am naturally anxious to hear from those who know the issues at stake. In any event, it should be quite enjoyable and amusing to see Galloway in the dock--an
American dock, no less.
Schadenfreude certainly has its place.
UPDATE: Robert Clayton Dean
