A Grand Compromise On The Iraqi Constitution

This post and the story it discusses are quite encouraging indeed. It will be interesting to see whether there is any kind of domino effect among the Sunni parties in terms of dropping their opposition to the Constitution. Note however that we still have the supplemental legislation to deal with, so if some Sunni groups decide to drop their opposition to the constitution, it may be because they are keeping their powder dry in order to influence the December elections--and through the elections, the crafting and enactment of supplemental legislation.
